The man I slept with his wife has snatched my wife, cleric cries to court

There was a mild drama at Igando Customary Court in Lagos on Wednesday when a 47-year-old Islamic Cleric opened up on allegation of having sexual intercourse with wife of a member of his mosque, lamenting that the same man has taken over his wife.

Penpushing reports that, the Islamic leader made the confession when his wife dragged him to court for divorce, having caught him having sex with wife of the mosque member, as well as allegation of being fetish.

“Yes, I made love with my member but it was the devil that pushed me. I begged my wife to forgive me and that it would never repeat itself but she refused and raised alarm. My wife is now living with the husband of the woman I had sexual intercourse with’

The embattled husband, however denied being fetish and married his wife with charm but accused her of being diabolical, adding, “It is my wife that is fetish. She frequently visited herbalists and came home with different substances,”

Penpushing further reports that the defendant   made a fervent plea to the court not to dissolve the marriage, saying that he still loves his wife, while the wife, who has four children in their 15 years marriage, on her own part said she was fed up with the marriage.

The 44-year-old wife, Rebecca Adeniyi, who is a tailor told the court, “I caught my cleric husband red-handed making love with a married woman. I caught him having sexual intercourse with one of our members’ wives. I grabbed the woman and tore her clothes’.

“I raised alarm; he started begging me not to expose the woman because her husband may divorce her. Members stopped coming to our mosque because of his atrocities and he is now accusing me of chasing members away. My husband’s behaviour towards me changed after the incident. He no longer gave me money nor care for me.”

Penpushing also reports that, the petitioner added that, her husband, built a mosque and started sleeping with his female members both single and married, and also accused him to have lured her into marriage with charm

“I was under the influence of charm throughout my marriage with Yusuf but the wool was later lifted off my eyes five years ago. I decided to remain in the marriage because of my children. Yusuf has never attended any of my family functions; even when my father died, he did not go for the burial’,she told the court.

Meanwhile, the Court President, Adeniyi Koledoye, after listening to the submission of the couple adjourned the case until March 20 for judgment.
