Students compete in games at Asani Aduke Cultural Festival

The ongoing 3rd International Adire and Cultural Festival, organized by the Asani and Aduke Foundation, witnessed a lively and engaging atmosphere on Thursday, as students participated in a games competition held at Alake Hall, Abeokuta Club, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.
Penpushing reports that the event featured a variety of traditional and modern games including Ere Idaraya/Ajodun ti Asani, Ayo Alategun Meta ti Asani, Asani’s Tic-Tac-Toe, Asani’s Festival/Picnic Board Game, Ludo, Ayo Olopon, and Draft.
The participants students are from Immaculate Conception College, Abeokuta, and the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) who engaged in the contests, displaying enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Penpushing further reports that the lively and fun-filled activity promoted unity, mental agility, and appreciation of indigenous games among the youth and equally reflected the festival’s commitment to celebrating African heritage under the theme, “Threads of Legacy, Patterns of Prosperity.”
The competition formed part of the week-long cultural festival, which features a range of activities including a medical outreach, cultural night, symposium, book launch, masterclasses, exhibitions, and a grand finale scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025.
