SIX OGUN COMMUNITIES RAISE ALARM OVER LAND GRABBERS INVASION OF TERRITORIES

The inscriptions on some of the placards read” ” Governor Dapo Abiodun please save us from Sir k”,” Save our souls from Otunba Sir K Oluwo is ruining our heritage at Makun Sagamu” and ” Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun save us from this notorious land grabber called Sir K Oluwo “.

Penpushing also reports that, the protesters alleged that the land grabbers led by Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina, popularly called Sir K Oluwo have been destroying their farm produce and encroaching on their lands since 2014.

The Secretary to communities, Lanre Olusanya Dada while speaking with journalists during the protest alleged that the land grabbers led by Otunba Kamorudeen Lamina, popularly called Sir K Oluwo, have been destroying their farm produce and encroaching on their lands since 2014.

Penpushing reports that he said the ring leader of the land speculators in connivance with one Tunde Ojelabi popularly called Mania and other hoodlums have been invading their villages with dangerous weapons as well as grabbing their lands.

The Communities scribe also revealed that wife of the head at Ewu Oje, the Oditan Pataraku family, during one of the attack launched by the land grabbers was trying to escape being killed, and in the course of that fell on her chest and died.

Penpushing reports that Dada added that, the communities have written so many letters to police formations in the State, but none has yielded any result till now, urging the government to come to their aid.

His words,” The land grabbers are now in heavy occupation of the entire land of the six communities, having invading and sent packing all the land owners, farmers, villagers thereby depriving them of the ownership of their properties and inheritance. Governor Dapo Abiodun should please help us and deliver us from this notorious land grabbers “.

Penpushing also reports that, another notable leader of the communities, Michael Adesonubi  while speaking  said the communities through their lawyer, Wale Ayodele petitioned the Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit at the Force headquarters, Abuja on the  matter who invited them.

The retired Army Captain said they went to Abuja three times but all to no avail, saying in the fourth time, they were kidnapped by kidnapers who released three of them having spent 13 days in captivity, and had to pay out of heavy ransom before regaining freedom.

Penpushing reports that, the community leader said the fourth victim of the kidnappers, who was also their kinsmen, was yet, to be released since September 14, 2017, alleging that the leader of the land grabbing syndicate has police and military men on his payroll working for him to terrorise the communities. He urged the government to act fast in order to save the communities from the land grabbers.

The Chief of Staff to Ogun State Governor, Alhaji Salisu Shuaib who attended to the protesters appealed to them to exercise patient, assuring them that the Governor will look into the matter, explaining that there is already an existing anti-land grabbing law in the State.

Penpushing reports that, Salisu maintained that the government would implement the anti-land grabbing law to the fullest, insisting that the government would call the security agencies attention to the matter with immediate effect.

His words: “Ogun state is not a Banana Island or save heaven for criminals. The attack on you is an attack on the government. Your security and protection of your farm lands are utmost importance to the government. Be patient; don’t take laws into your hands. The government will immediately call security agencies into action”.
