Seven burnt to death in Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash

A fatal crash occurred Sunday midnight along Lagos-Ibadan expressway claiming lives of seven persons who were burnt to death and beyond recognition, as well as three others sustaining serious injuries.

Penpushing reports that, Public Education Officer for Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe confirmed the incident, explaining that the crash involved two vehicles which are truck and two buses.

The Route Commander added that ten persons were involved in the accident, stressing that; the injured had being taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention and corpses deposited in the morgue.

‘A fatal crash occurred late last night  at about 2240 hrs involving two vehicles with no registration number on it due to the nature of the crash. A total of 10 person were involved , 03 persons were injured while the other 07 were burnt beyond recognition only to be identified with skulls’, Okpe said

Penpushing further reports that, she said the suspected cause of the crash was route violation ( one way) adding that the two vehicles had head on collusion due to one way drive which resulted to fire out break

The Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, has cautioned motorists to desist from driving against traffic knowing the dangers attached to route violation, and  also commiserated with the family of crash victims and enjoined them to contact Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) Ogunmakin area for more information about the injured victims.
