SCARY: NIGERIAN MILITARY INTERCEPTS ‘STRANGE’ MILITARY EQUIPMENT IN ADAMAWA

The authority headquarters according to source has directed an urgent investigation into the discovery, while in the interim the military sources further informed has handed over the equipment to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

Penpushing further reports that,, the Commander of 23 Armoured Brigade, S.G. Mohammed, was reported to have handed over the vehicles to the comptroller of Customs in charge of Adamawa and Taraba, Olumoh Kamaldeen.

The source said It is not immediately clear whether suspects were arrested, adding that it is a known fact that it is illegal to import such equipment without an end-user certificates from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), which is the only federal agency with powers to issue such document.

Penpushing also reports that security analysts have continued to raise concern on how terrorists and other criminals acquire weapons they have used to keep the country under siege for many years,

The security analysts on regular basis advised security and intelligence agencies to always devote more time to understanding the complex web of illicit arms movement, as the ugly development could further upset security agencies, who have continued to grapple with acute insecurity and violence across the country.
