Residents protest alleged police killing of 17- year old boy in Kano

Residents of Kano on Monday trooped into the major streets of the ancient town of Kano State to protest the alleged killing of a 17-year-old boy Saifullahi, following his arrest and subsequent detention in police cell.

Penpushing reports  that,  Saifullahi of Kofar Mata quarters was said to have been arrested two days ago by the police, while he was sleeping at his family house, and was later released on bail, and re-arrested days later.

The detained was reportedly tortured and died in the process, a development which triggered annoyance of residents, and in their large number went out to protest, arguing that the deceased was not known with any criminal records or criminal tendencies.

Penpushing further reports that, the corpse of Saifullah was brought to the family by the police, and this development angered members of the community, and took to the streets, making bonfire to express their displeasure over the controversial death.
