Police Community Relations Committee takes proactive step to fight crime, organize seminar for stakeholders

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC),Ogun State Command on Tuesday took another round of proactive measures towards waging war against criminality, as the body organized a workshop in communities to fashion out modalities to address the menace

Penpushing reports that, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC),organized the seminar in collaboration with stakeholders in Obada-Oko,Awowo, Adigbe and environs, with the support of other security agencies.

The theme for the seminar held at a hall in Obada town has the theme, ’Curbing the rising case of Kidnapping in our Domain’, and had in attendance leadership of various communities, which include traditional rulers among others’

Penpushing further reports, the interactive session gave opportunities for various stakeholders to air their views, experiences, and what are expected of them to do, in jointly addressing the menace which is almost becoming order of the day

The seminar pointed out that, criminals resident among various communities, hence, need for every residents, which include landlords to always be at alert, stressing need that, all strange observations must be made known to the appropriate authorizes without delay.

Penpushing also reports that, in his welcome speech Ogun State Chairman Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Apostle Samson Popoola said the issue of security remains responsibility of all residents in various communities.

The chairman explained that, the summit became necessary to jointly look inward, to provide best way in addressing the menace, pointing out that, it is a known fact that, criminals are not ghosts, but resident within the communities.

Penpushing also reports that, Popoola advised stakeholders to do away with non-challnce, adding that, it should be in the minds of all that whatever affects the eyes will definitely affect the nose, hence need to be vigilant at all time.

The committee boss encouraged all stakeholders to always provide information to the appropriate authorities, adding that the era of entertaining fear in dishing out information is gone, adding that such information can as well be forwarded to the committee for onward transmission to the security agencies

Penpushing reports that, Popoola pointed out that, there is no community that is developing that wont experience some levels of crime, but quickly noted that, it is in view of this that, there should always be a proactive measure to curb such.

The notable stakeholder as the event include CSP  Muhammed Tijani representing Commissioner of Police, Assistant Inspector General of Police Shola Subair(rtd) ,Special  Adviser to Ogun State Governor on Security Matters, Commander Soji   Ganzallo(Commander So-Safe Corps)and  ) and DSP Ade Akiti representing Area Commander, Metro Command

Penpushing further reports that, others are Hon Yomi Whyte(Chairman Abeokuta Metro Command of Police Community Relations Committee, Chief(Mrs) Feyisara Odunlami(Vice Chairman Police Community Relations Committee) and  Adenike Bamgboye (Director  of Protocol Police Community Relations Committee)

The list also include; Comrade Sanmi Ogundele (Assistant Secretary Police Community Relations Committee),Tunde Odeyemi (Public Relations Officer Police Community Relations Committee) ,Divisional Police Officers of Lafenwa, Ilupeju, Adigbe and  Ibara among others
