Penpushing media founder bags excellent service delivery award of Federal Road Safety Corps

The founder of Penpushing Media Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji has been bestowed stakeholders award for excellent service delivery, courtesy of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, which was part of activities to commemorate the 2025 International Customer Service Week.

Penpushing reports that the ceremony which include a symposium was held on Thursday October 9, 2025 at the headquarters of the command located within the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta.

The other awardees include: Elder Solomon Adeniyi of the Special Marshal John Jachi (Mowe), Sule Okloho (Sagamu), and Philip Gogomi (KM 27, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway) as outstanding unit commanders, Florence Okpe Public Relation Officer) and Damola Adeosun earned a commendation award.

Penpushing further reports that the Ogun State Sector Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, declaring the event open said the celebration was in line with the global commemoration of customer service.

The commander pointed out that the event offered an opportunity to appreciate Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel, partners, and the motoring public for their collective contributions to road safety.

“Today we are celebrating our customers. It’s an international event taking place all over the world. Our customers include transport unions, sister agencies, partners, and other stakeholders who make our mission possible,” he stated.

Penpushing also reports that Fasakin emphasized the need for emotional intelligence among the agency personnel in their daily operations, urging officers to remain calm and professional even when provoked by members of the public.

The sector commander cautioned against any form of assault on officers, stressing that such actions would not be condoned by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

“What we are doing is service to humanity. We must be friendly, professional, and dedicated to our responsibilities. Assaults on our staff will not be overlooked’, Fasakin emphasised

Penpushing reports that he commended the commitment and professionalism of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) personnel across the country, describing them as the unseen guardians on the highways.

The sector commander explained that the theme of this year’s Customer Service Week — “Mission Possible” is not just a slogan but a call to action.

“The commemoration reminds us that behind every patrol, every rescue, and every public enlightenment campaign are men and women of dedication, courage, and resilience,” Mohammed stated.

Penpushing further reports that he highlighted several achievements under his leadership since 2024, including enhanced training on professionalism, expanded public enlightenment campaigns, improved staff welfare, and significant reduction in road crashes through enforcement and education.

The agency boss, however, disclosed ongoing reforms, including modernization of Federal Road Safety (FRSC) operations with data-driven tools, expanded capacity-building programmes, and reward systems to encourage excellence.

“Every patrol we conduct, every motorist we educate, and every life we save is a victory for Nigeria. Our mission is not only possible but achievable’, Fasakin stated.

Penpushing also reports that he reiterated the importance of continuous improvement in service delivery, urging officers and partners to renew their commitment to the agency vision of safer roads.

“I want to admonish us as Corps Marshall said, that we should put in more efforts, re -dedicate ourselves. What we are doing is service to humanity”, Fasakin emphasized.

Penpushing reports that in a related development, Superintendent Route Commander Victor Akinpelu, in his lecture themed “Mission Possible”, traced the history of Customer Service Week to 1984.

The route commanded pointed out that it was designed to recognize employees and organizations committed to excellent service delivery, as he emphasized the importance of youth engagement in road safety, citing their massive online presence and influence on social media.

Penpushing further reports that he noted that many Nigerian youths, while vibrant and resourceful, often exhibit impatience, disregard for traffic laws, and aggressive driving habits due to economic and social pressures.

“To ensure the safety of our youthful motoring public, we must adopt a youth-centric approach. FRSC must be effective and be seen to be effective,” he said.

Penpushing further reports that Akinpelu outlined strategies to enhance road safety, including leveraging social media and influencers for youth education, using digital tools to publicize enforcement and deter violations, partnering with stakeholders for safer road designs, introducing driver recognition programmes, and conducting regular evaluations to improve the agency’s impact

The Founder of Penpushing Media, owner of online newspaper and television in his remarks expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for identifying him for the award.

Penpushing also reports that the veteran journalist represented by his son Wale Kayode-Adedeji, said the award was additional value to his journalism practice, which he said would further encouraged him to maintain his integrity in the noble profession
