PATHFINDER INTERNATIONAL ORGANISES WORKSHOP ON RESOURCE MOBILIZATION FOR ADVANCE FAMILY PLANNING
The Director explained that advocacy groups working on family planning will only be able to continue to move sustainable Family planning to the next level through a robust financial and management systems that will engender donor support
Penpushing further reports that, she added that the organization was trying to empower the advocacy working groups on skills acquisition to get more funds and to manage projects efficiently and effectively in their various states.
The Pathfinder International boss noted that the workshop will assist the group immensely to improve in the resources mobilization and grant proposal for family planning activities in working states urging the participants at the workshop to pay rapt attention to the facilitator , so as to achieve targeted objectives which is to increase family planning funds by 2020.
Penpushing also reports that Consultant for the organization , Dr Francis Ademola while speaking on the objectives of the programme said the objective of the training was to increase skills of participants in building a sustainable organization.
The Consultant explained further that the workshop was designed to strengthen financial management capacity and enhance resource mobilization skills of the members of the Kwara, Ogun and Plateau States advocacy working groups
“The purpose is to improve the knowledge and skills of the family planning advocacy working groups in resource mobilization, financial management, and grant winning proposals for family planning advocacy in preparation for graduation’, he said.
The facilitator described resource mobilization as all activities involved in securing new and additional resources for the organization, adding that It also involves making better use of, and maximizing, existing resources.
Penpushing reports that in similar vein, the Programs/ Business Unit Coordinator, Hauwa Usman speaking on the overview of the programme explained that Pathfinder International has maintained an unwavering belief in the right of women and families to have access to contraception and to quality reproductive health care.
