OYO POLICE FULLY PREPARE FOR CRIME FREE ELECTIONS, SAYS COMMISSIONER

Hear him “Sufficient number of policemen in addition to various security personnel have been deployed to various polling units and strategic points to provide security, they have also been deployed to ensure that the materials and INEC personnel’s are safe during this election exercise”.

“This morning we held a show of force within around the headquarters, the 10 area commands in Oyo state held their own show of force yesterday. The joint operation is operational and its out there to serve all members of the public, the emergency number to the patrol rooms have earlier been given out and all our personnel have been mobilized, the dog section, the medical are also involve in this exercise”.

Penpushing further reports that, Olukolu stated that aside from the police personnel already deployed to ensure security at the polling units, a patrol team was also been deployed to some strategic places which are considered to be flash points and hotpots, noting that this strategic team are going to be armed and they will quickly restore any breach of peace in any Polling Unit or Voting Centers.

“They will be the first in line of defence, we are also going to have another set of officers at the command headquarter on standby as a patrol team, the strategical team placed around the place will assist, while those from the headquarters will also take off to go and assist the patrol team so that by the time the first, second, third and fourth team arrive, something positive would have been done’.

“We are going to also have men in plainclothes who are officers from our CID, their own is to access the threat in particular area on that day, they will also give us feedback through the control room, so that all information needed for the day can be related. The team will be contacted around there to know what is going on there so that at the end of the day, people can know that the police have put in place security measures.

Penpushing also reports that, the Commissioner urged the politicians to play the game according to the rule, adding that the electorates should go out without any fear to carry out their civic responsibilities and come back home peacefully.
