Oyo Police apprehends suspected fake Military Officer, Policeman

The Oyo State Police Command, has arrested a suspected  29 year old fake military officer, Sodiq Abiodun for alleged  for impersonation, kidnapping, and raping, as well as  another suspected fake policeman, Oluwaseun Ogunjebe(48), for impersonation as a Police Officer to the public.

Penpushing reports that the Oyo State Police Commissioner, Shina Olukolu, while briefing journalists on Thursday at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan said that the suspects were arrested at different location for various crimes.

“The fake soldier Sodiq Abiodun and his friend Lekan Adesokan were arrested at Papa Eleye, in Olomi area of Ibadan, following the tip off, that hoodlums attacked one Ismail Alimot, female, dispossessed her of her cell phone and abducted her to his hide out at Papa Eleye, in Olomi area’

“The suspects and the members of their syndicate held hostage the girl, raped her serially till the following day, before they were later arrested by the men of the SARS Operatives who swung into action which led to their arrest.”

The police boss  noted that the complete set of Nigeria Army Camouflage Uniform, which Adesokan Sodiq normally wore to carry out his criminal activities were recovered from him, confessing that, I got the uniform from a friend of mine who is an Army Officer’.

‘I got it last year with the intention to be telling people that I’m now a soldier, i did this, because I have tried three time to join the Army but I was not given the opportunity to do so, I beg for Mercy. Abiodun said.

Penpushing further reports that, in a related development, the commissioner said, “the Swift Response Squad (SRS) along Ibadan/Ife Road Toll Gate intercepted one Oluwaseun Ogunjebe aged 48, of No. 1A Olanrewaju Street Agege Dopemu, Lagos, who claimed to be a Police Corporal serving at Force Headquarters Annex Lagos with one  Blue Nissan Primera Car with registration number SMK 981 EQ and found with a fake Police I.D. card.

“The suspects upon sighting the SRS failed to stop for Personnel Routine Stop and Search, but later got arrested. He was arrested with fake police Corporal I.D. card, with a Blue Nissan Primera Car with registration number SMK 981 EQ’.

The Commissioner said that since the suspects have confessed to the crimes, they will soon charge to court for proper trial.
