Ogun state women declare Fridays as prayers day against coronavirus

he Ogun State Women under the banner of Voice of Ogun Women(VOW) have declared every Fridays as prayers day against the coronavirus pandemic until the menace is completely wipe out from the world.

Penpushing reports that, the Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO) and Social Advocacy Group, made this known in a statement made available by its Publicity Secretary, Mrs Yemisi Onanuga

The Convener of the group, Deaconess Doyin Ogunbiyi in the statement charged women in the state to battle coronavirus with their dedicated prayers, adding that the prayers are scheduled to hold between the hours of 2-3pm

Penpushing further reports that, Ogunbiyi called on women where ever they are at the dedicated day and time  to stand still, look up to God and pray, stressing that in this time of need for God’s perfect will over the nations across the globe

The convener emphasized that God has endowed an incredible power in women to pray which they must deploy at this time to counter and conquer the pandemic through the powerful force of prayer.

Penpushing also reports that, she called on the women irrespective of religion, age and marital status to pray with one voice  every Friday between 2 to 3pm.from whatever location the women find themselves at the given time be it the palace, or market place..

The first Commissioner for Women Affairs in  Ogun State also saluted women and mothers  for their patience, perseverance, long-suffering and endurance, noting  that the work of women in the society ” is not complete without harnessing the power of a praying woman.”.

“Women  will never be truly happy until they make God the source of their fulfillment and answers to their yearnings for a better society”, Ogunbiyi stated, and  while  acknowledging  the efforts of government with gratitude in the management of the corona virus pandemic which is unprecedented

Penpushing reports that ,Ogunbiyi  noted that “as a people  we are stressed and anxious, coping with the lockdown fatigue, and the attendant socio-economic consequences’, affirming that, “women truly know where the shoe pinches   in the care of the families and are therefore most suitably qualified to cry to God in prayers on behalf of the society”
