Ogun state former first lady Lucia Onabanjo clocks 100 years

The Ogun state first lady, Chief (Mrs.) Lucia Onabanjo and wife of the late first civilian Governor of the state Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo has clocked 100 years, a ceremony described as a milestone.

Penpushing reports that the celebrator’s husband served as Governor of Ogun State from October 1979 to December 1983, died in 1990, and was a renowned journalist before venturing into politics.

The late husband was known for his integrity and commitment to education and public service, while Ogun State University, established during his administration, was later renamed Olabisi Onabanjo University in his honour.

Penpushing further reports that Governor Dapo Abiodun, in a message shared on his social media handle, described the celebrator’s attainment of a century as a divine blessing and a testament to a life of grace, faith, and purpose.

“We join family, friends, and the good people of Ogun State in celebrating Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs.) Lucia Onabanjo, on her 100th birthday. Attaining a century in good health and sound mind is a divine blessing and a testament to a life of grace, faith, and purpose’, Abiodun wrote
