Ogun state environment commissioner, Ola Oresanya to deliver lecture at world radio day
The Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya is to deliver lecture at a programme organised by the Premium Radio Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State, to mark the world radio day, with the theme, ‘Radio and Climate Change”, scheduled to hold Thursday February 13, 2025.
Penpushing reports that Secretary of the Chapel, Emmanuel Oke made this known in a statement adding that the event is scheduled to hold at the Aremo Olusegun Osoba Hall, Iwe Irohin, Press Centre, Abeokuta, from 11:00am.
The statement added that the lecture will bring together journalists, broadcasters, and media professionals to celebrate the power of radio and discuss its role in driving positive change, adding that Oresanya as the guest lecturer has been identified to be competent for the task.
Penpushing further reports that Oke stated that Oresanya, beyond his current role as Environment Commissioner has a rich history in radio broadcasting, having spent several years at Radio O.Y.O in Oyo State.
The statement disclosed that his deep understanding of the media landscape makes him uniquely positioned to speak on the sub-theme, ‘Leveraging Radio for Climate Action: The Role of Media in Environmental Sustainability’.
Penpushing also reports that the statement emphasised that the lecture will highlight the critical role of radio in promoting environmental awareness, and driving policies that support climate action,calling on allmedia practitioners, stakeholders, and the general public to be part of this insightful discussion.
Meanwhile, Premium Radio Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Ogun State Council is a gathering of reporters, editors and broadcasters across privately owned radio stations in the State.
