OGUN GOVERNMENT TO EMPOWER WIDOWS

“We join the rest of the world to identify with our women, especially our widows, to address poverty and injustice being experienced by them. The State would come up with programmes to alleviate the suffering of women, as well as empower them; first of which would be “Oko-Owo Dapo”, for the women, particularly the widows, like the Federal Government Trader Moni programme’’, the Governor stated.

 The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr (Mrs.) Oluranti Oladeinde, earlier in her speech commended the State Government for the commitment to the people of the State, particularly, the vulnerable, promising that the agency would always give the needed support.

Penpushing further reports that,the Permanent Secretary who was represented by the Director of Social Welfare Services, Mr. Olumide Sotubo, said this commitment was a reflection that this administration, in building the future of the State, would not leave out anybody, irrespective of gender or economic status.
