NON-CHALLANCE OF COMMUNITY RESPONSIBLE FOR INFLUX OF LAND GRABBERS,SAYS OBA OGUNLEYE

The monarch who clocked 75  stressed that, this attitude of neglect has made the town and its land mass to be susceptible to land grabbing activities, the after effect of which, has thrown the area into a den of criminals.

 “Seeing here today the cream of highly placed and responsible people to join in raising fund to complete the African Church in Agodo and supporting the Abeokuta Diocese of the African Church to install High Chiefs for Agodo African Church is a sign of better things that can still happen here” Oba Ogunleye said.

The African Church Archbishop of the Abeokuta Diocese and Ogun Province, Most Rev. S.O.B. Ojumu, earlier installed an octogenarian native, Chief Samuel Oluwole Ayinla Boshorin as Babajo of Agodo, as well as 78 year old seamstress, Chief Mrs Felicia Amoke Adeshina installed as Iya Ijo.

Penpushing further reports that, the Bishop charged the newly install Chiefs to rededicate their life for the service of God and ensure that the African Church Agodo enjoyed the best of their humanitarian service.

The guests at the church event were prominent members of the African Cathedral, Owu, Abeokuta including Professor Akin Ogunpola who recounted that the African Church Agodo is 105 years old, recalling how he and many who are no more had toiled to bring the church to reckoning.
