NIGERIAN STUDENTS WANTS NATIONAL ASSEMBLY TO USE VETO POWER IN UPTURNING BUHARI’S REJECTION OF PEACE CORPS BILL

Similarly, Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Ogun State, Comrade Olawale Balogun in his reaction corroborated the national leadership of the students appeal to the President to assent the corps bill.

Balogun said, “The peace corp is ascertained with the advantages of absorbing over 800,000 of our unemployed youths. This feats wouldn’t have only helped the Buhari government fulfills his promise but would have also relief the country of the havoc which can wreck 800,000 jobless youths for a popular saying says “An idle hand is the devil’s workshop”

“As a result, we however call the attention of Mr President to the fact that millions of our students are graduating every year and this stands as an additional population to the teaming unemployed youths in the country. Hence, the creation of employment opportunities most be prioritized by Buhari Government.

“It is on this note, our Association hereby advises the President to assent this sympathetic bill to avert the wrath of the unemployed youths which could result into illegal conducts in the country. Most importantly, the leadership of NANS in Ogun State uses this medium to charge our students to get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) because when the time comes we shall vote to ensure the emancipation of Nigerians and Nigerian students from the hands of the oppressors’.

“We also use this precocious avenue to announce our “ONE STUDENT, ONE VOTER’S CARD CAMPAIGN” as we would move round our institutions in the state to meet with students, Comrades, stakeholders and senior cadres to ensure compliance. We pray and hope that the President heed our pleas as a father for all Nigeria students are truly not happy and against such callous rejection from the presidency.”
