Nigerian Onyeka Okongwu’s name is on the lips of many basketball players and fans as he hit a surprising “crazy” long shot that earned his team a 3-point bucket all season at the tail end of the first half of the game.

Penpushing reports that,  Okongwo’s shot at the game against Arizona on Thursday has been dubbed the craziest-beater drill of year 2020 so far, which he, and basketball fans too, will continue to remember for a very long time to come.

The University of South Carolina (USC) freshman player assisted his team to secure a 57-48 win lead at half time, and eventual victory, over their opponent at the game played at Calen Centre, the multipurpose indoor arena and athletic facility owned and operated by the USC.

“I just took a chance. Got fouled, no call, but it still went in”, the Nigerian-parentage player whose shot was right on the mark, said

The talented player grabbed the ball just within seconds to halftime, dribbled past his opponents and promptly aimed a shot which earned his team a three point lead.

Penpushing further reports that, his long shot shocked fellow players and others at the game who went into wild excitement as he scored the much-needed point, though Arizona guard Dylan Smith tripped Okongwo – who fell to the ground – but the Nigerian has netted the ball, and with excitement, he ran to the dressing room jubilating with his teammates who were full of satisfaction over the once-in-a-life-time goal.
