Nigerian government confirms ‘foolish attempt’ by burglars to break into home of Chief of Staff at Presidential villa

The Nigerian Government has said that the alleged attack on the Presidential villa was a ‘foolish’ burglary attempt in the private residence of the Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, which is a stone throw to President Muhammed Buhari residence.

Penpushing reports that, President Muhammed Buhari’s spokesman Garba Shehu, confirmed this in a tweet via his verified handle on Monday, adding the burglary attempt occurred at 3:00am but was unsuccessful

“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there ‘was a foolish attempt’ to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful. Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident,” he tweeted.

Penpushing further reports that, the Presidential Villa is where the Nigerian President and his family reside and known as one of the most secured places, and considered no go area for intruders

The findings also showed that there has never been any case of this nature reported from the Presidential Villa in several years, just as it was alleged that the invaders equally robbed the home of  the President’s Admin Officer, Abubakar Maikano

Penpushing also reports that, as at the time of filing this report, the claim was yet to be verified, but equally learnt that the attackers made away with cash and other valuable items from the affected homes

Meanwhile, it is on record that, the country has been and continued to witness rising crime rates and violence which the security forces have find difficult to handle or contain, while the most pronounced is kidnapping
