A renowned Nollywood Actor, Samuel Alabi Oludayo Akinpelu, popularly known as ‘Alabi Yellow’ has died on Sunday in his Ikorodu home in Lagos State at the age of 62.

Penpushing reports that, the Nigerian Actor had suffered a stroke after his wife’s death in March, while fundraiser was announced on his behalf, as a popular philanthropist and Reverend, Esther Ajayi, alongside other actors rallied round to raise funds to cater for his failing health.

 The Professional Actor’s ailment before his death remained a surprise to many of his colleagues and fans because he featured in Kunle Afolayan’s latest movie, ‘Mokalik’ and did not show any signs of illness, while the film was released in May 2019.

Penpushing further reports that, the news of the death  of Alabi Yellow was  confirmed by Saidi Balogun and shared on a Nollywood group platform ‘Nollywood First’, while it is also on record that over  four decades after his debut as a professional actor, he was one of the most recognisable faces in the Yoruba movie industry.

The deceased aside from acting, was also the author of a Yoruba literature book, ‘A Ba Oko Ku’ which has been included in the curriculum for pupils in junior Secondary School.
