Music super star, Apesin tasks Nigerian government on relevance of music in economic development

The winner of Mr Teen Nigeria,  Rahmon Kolawole Apesin has advised the Nigerian  Government to take full advantage of the potentials abound in the entertainment industry for the economic growth of the country.

Penpushing reports that, Apesin made the call while launching his new record label -World Chase record label in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Monday, pointing out that the industry is capable of generating enough revenue to run the country if properly managed.

The music super star emphasized that it was high time Nigeria diversified from a mono economy and over dependence on crude oil to other industries, stressing that music, being a serious business cannot be put aside.

Penpushing further reports that, the entertainer who posited  that music is a way of life and cannot be over emphasized, adding that if music industry is properly managed, the entertainment industry is capable of generating enough revenue to run the country successfully.

“If the music industry is properly managed, Nigeria entertainment industry is capable of generating enough revenue to run the country. It is high time Nigeria diversify from a mono economy and over dependence on crude oil to other industries’, he stated.

“The entertainment industry is a business that generates value by providing people with something interesting to do. It is a form of activity that holds the attention or gives pleasure and delight to people. The global record music industry has recorded huge growth over the years. These youths, if properly groomed would become superstars and revenue would be generated through their talents’.

Penpushing also reports that, Apesin the record label boss of World Chase record label, a fast growing music record label, stated  that there is nothing stopping Nigeria artiste from clinching more International awards if the government really gives the industry the attention it needed

The talented musician called on State Governments on need  to compel their various Commissioners for Youths and Sports to start programmes that would attract youths with musical talents.

Penpushing reports that, Apesin told journalists at the event that the essence of his new record label is to create a platform to groom and promote young Nigerians that have passion for the music business.

The first runner up at the just concluded Mr. Teen Nigeria contest, held at Victoria Island, Lagos in April, 2022, pointed out that his victory was an indication that he is made for the top in the entertainment world.

“It is our relation to circumstances that determines their influence over us. The same wind that carries one vessel into port, may blow another off shore. The business of music must be taken seriously. Music is the literature of the heart; it commences where speech ends. Where words fail, music speaks’, he said
