MOTORCYLISTS ASSOCIATION UNVEILS SECURITY CODES TO FIGHT CRIMES

“The code is for the benefit of both the riders and passengers. It was conceived by the office of the Inspector General of Police, then sent to Minister of Transportation who later routed it to the office of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice’, he stated.

“We will assist in intelligent gathering, offer ourselves to be partner with security agencies in war against terrorism, we will get enlightened on how to identify terrorist and who may want to engage our members for criminal acts,” Meula said.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police Ahmed Iliyasu, in his remark noted that 70 percent of sophisticated crimes, including bank robbery, are committed using motorcycles because it facilitates easy escape.

The police boss represented by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the new code would help the Command to fight terrorism, kidnappings, robbery and other vices.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Chapter Chairman of the association Samsudeen Apelogun, earlier in his speech said many people commit crimes under the guise of being their members and urged the police to fish out those giving the association bad names.
