Maiduguri residents celebrate death of Shekau

Hundreds of residents of Maiduguri, Borno State have celebrated the death of the notorious leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, adding that they were excited with the news, and prayed the news is true.

Penpushing reports that, cross-section of the residents were seen discussing the death news, and also called  on security forces in Nigeria to seize the opportunity of the differences among the terrorists, to degrade the group.

The residents were of the conviction that, the development will serve as a major breakthrough to facilitate the end of the criminal activities of the deadly Boko Haram, having held Nigeria in jugular for years

Penpushing further reports that, number of residents in reaction posited that the death news of Shekau, will bring a positive development to the country, and end the illegality of the insurgents, adding that they (residents) have been praying over this.

The residents said with the demise of Shekau, God has answered their prayers, stressing that the development was a divine intervention and that the news of the death was a big relief for the country

“We have been praying over the years and even observed special prayers during the just-concluded Ramadan for divine intervention and it seems God has answered our prayers,’ a resident was quoted saying.
