The Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu has warned against any form of complacency on the part of operatives of Oyo State Police Command, following rearrest of fugitive serial killer suspect, Sunday Shodipe in Bodija area of Ibadan.
Penpushing reports that, the warning and caution note was contained in a statement made available by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, stressing that all hands must be on deck to bring the case to a positive and successful closure.
The alleged notorious murder suspect, it is recalled escaped from lawful custody on 11th August, 2020, and was thereafter declared wanted, with sum of N500,000 placed on his head for anybody with information that can lead to his rearrest.
Penpushing further reports that, on Sunday nemesis caught up with the prime suspect alleged to be engaged in multiple murder of innocent citizens at Akinyele local government area, Moniya, Ibadan, Oyo State Capital, as he was re-arrested by police operatives
The statement added that, the Inspector General of Police while commending the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu and his team for a job well done, equally expressed his sincere appreciation to the citizens for their support and understanding while the manhunt for the rearrested Shodipe lasted.
