INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE IN CLOSED DOOR MEETING WITH ASSEMBLY LEADERSHIP

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Adamu, is currently in a closed door meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly, which is aimed to discuss the increasing insecurity across the country.

Penpushing reports that, the Inspector General of Police arrived the Senate building in the company of other security officers, the appearance said to be in response to a summon by the Senate last week, on need to  discuss national insecurity, the need to restructure the security architecture, as well as the concept and modalities of community policing.

The Senate had earlier set up an ad-hoc committee to engage security agencies and find ways to end the menace, and the federal lawmakers last Tuesday dedicated the session to discuss the said issue,while it is also recalled that the Minority leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign as President and the Senate asked him to dismiss the Service Chiefs and appoint new ones.

Penpushing further reports that  the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, and his counterpart at the House of Representatives  Femi Gbajabiamila, met with the president afterwards to relay the resolutions of the lawmakers.

Meanwhile, as the world awaits the outcome meeting of the Inspector General of Police with the National Assembly leadership, the source said the Speaker of House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila is expected to disclose their resolution afterwards.
