I am not ready to merge with adebutu’s party, african democratic congress governorship candidate, Otegbeye declares

The Governorship Candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State Biyi Otegbeye has debunked speculations that he was planning to go into alliance with Ladi Adebutu the Governorship Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the Saturday elections.

Penpushing reports that Otegbeye made the clarification while featuring as guest at the media parley organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council held on Tuesday at Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta.

The Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) declared that at this level of campaigns both his party and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should carry their crosses, stressing that the political field was spacious enough for candidates of the parties to fight it out at the poll.

Penpushing further reports that Otegbeye while commending former Governor of the State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for supporting and endorsing his governorship ambition, said he (Otegbeye) was not ready to step down for any candidate(s) ahead of the March 18, 2023 elections.

The legal practitioner turned politician declared that  he has gone beyond any thought of merger, stressing that at this point in time its almost impossible to form any meaningful merger and expect it to work, assuring that if elected he would ensure providing meaningful information for the media

‘Of course there will be merger, but it is not to be like a typical merger you are expecting. Not like stepping down for someone.  We have gone pass that, election is 4 days away, and there won’t be any meaningful merger. At this point in time is almost impossible to form any meaningful merger and expect it to work. For the media we will provide you a meaningful information that will help you’, Otegbeye emphasized
