Gunmen abduct court president in Edo state

Gunmen have abducted the president of Igueben Area Customary Court in Edo State, Precious Aigbonoga on her way to the court on Monday, an incident which occurred barely few days after terrorist abducted 31 train passengers in the State.

Penpushing reports that the Chairperson of a local branch of the  Nigerian Bar Association(NBA} in the state, Nosa Edo-Osagie, confirmed the incident expressing sadness over the disturbing development, and described the victim as an easygoing, gentle, and hardworking judicial officer.

The abducted court president is the wife of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Etsako West State Constituency 1, Edo State, while as at the time of filing this report, her wherabout remain unknown.

Penpushing further reports that in similar vein, a former Edo State lawmaker Hon Festus Edughele was on Monday abducted in Ubiaja while on his way from Orhionmwon Local Government Area to Benin City.

The former Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly, Rt Hon Festus Ebea  confirmed the abduction of his former colleague, while this sad news occurred after Saturday’s terror attack on a train station in the state.

Penpushing also reports that Ebea explained that the abducted former lawmaker had intended to take the train for Ubiaja but he could not do so since the train services had been suspended, adding that police authorities have been informed about the incident.
