Governor Dapo Abiodun dares opposition, as he takes Tinubu solidarity walk to doorstep of peoples democratic party

The one-million march organized by All Progressives Congress (APC) for the party Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu and second term bid of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Tuesday grounded vehicular traffic and business activities in Abeokuta.

Penpushing reports that, the party took over the stretch of Presidential boulevard and Moshood Abiola way axis of the town where they mounted a big stage, with loud speakers for performing artistes, just a stone throw to secretariat of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The crowd was led by the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr (Mrs) Noimot Salako-Oyedele FROM Moshood Abiola International Stadium through the  GTB junction, OPIC Roundabout, Ibara Roundabout, Isale Igbein, Sapon , Ijaye, Iyana Mortuary, Abiola way  NNPC junction Kuto Market, Isabo, Iyana Mortuary, Adatan, Moore Junction among others.

Penpushing further reports that the walk disrupted all activities in the markets and affected pedestrians, as well as motorist, causing traffic jam, while number of passengers had to disembark from cabs to trek to their various destinations

Penpushing also reports that, after the walk, the campaigners converged at the NNPC junction, a stone throw to the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a development the opposition party described as affront

The Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akin Bankole in reaction condemned the All Progressives Congress (APC) for blocking the party’s entrance, alleging that the act was targeted at causing violence.

Penpushing reports that, Bankole said it takes the intervention of the party leaders to calm the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youths, who had earlier arrived the party secretariat for  party’s activity for the day.

‘Instead of busying himself with needless blockage of main roads on work day thereby shooting down businesses and disrupting free flow of traffic in the metropolis, the governor should pay a priority attention to his ongoing litigations surrounding his eligibility to contest or participate as a candidate in the forthcoming election’, Bankole declared.

‘He needs to absolve himself of a supposed criminal identity of Shawn Micheal. He also needs to prove to the good people of Ogun State who have suffered all manners of needless hardship under the watch of his government about the criminal question of forgery and perjury currently against him’, he added.

‘The so-called solidarity march for APC and its candidates in Abeokuta metropolis left a sour taste of insensitivity to the plight of the people. It shows rejection as the people have manifestly disassociate themselves from the all the misery and agonies APC represents”,Bankole stressed

Penpushing further reports that, in similar vein, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) youth leader in the state, Sunkanmi Oyedeji,  described the positioning of the All Progressives Congress(APC) campaign as a deliberate attempt to infuriate the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

‘I had to cancel a very important stakeholders meeting of the youth wing of the party. They completely blocked the entrance to our secretariat. I had to calm down the youths that travelled to Abeokuta for the meeting’, Oyedeji lamented.

‘This is not the Ogun State standard. The governor should tender apology to the Peoples Democratic Party and the people of Ogun State with immediate effect. The fact that buses from Lagos in their large numbers came into the state today just for the rally was an eyesore. The question is who is afraid of who?”
