FUEL SCARCITY TAKES TOLL ON OGUN DEPUTY GOVERNOR

 

Onanuga convoy was moving in a snail speed  ‎just like other motorists, when sighted by the station authorities,and came to her rescue. A route was immediately created for her convoy,to have access into the station,before the vehicles were thereafter attended to. She however,stayed put in the car,apparently to avoid being sighted by other motorists.

 

Penpushing report that,it was glaring that,she was inside her official, as other motorists also observed. The Deputy Governor,was honoured by the frustrated motorists to fill her convoy,contrary to expectation that,there maybe reaction from other buyers‎. However,further findings by our reporter  showed that,the fuel scarcity still bite harder,as motorists in the state in the last one week  continued to search for the products.

 

Many of the stations visited revealed non availability of the products,while the handful stations with the products were bombarded by motorists and residents.

 

It was also observed that,many of the motorists,particularly commercial drivers had to sleep overnight at the stations,following rumours that,supply would be made at odd hour of the day.

 

At the NNPC depot, long queue of vehicles stretched for over three kilometers in the struggle to purchase the products. This was same experiences at the few stations with the products.

 

In the same vein, it was observed that many of petrol attendants at the privately owned fuel stations with the fuel, were making brisk businesses‎.

 

At these stations, the attendants collected the sum of N200 on each purchase by the motorists. The motorists in return had to complied with the rule,as only way to get the fuel.

 

In the same struggle to get fuel,some housewives were not left out. At a popular petrol station along Moshood Abiola Way,Abeokuta, a dejected woman was seen sitting on a generator she brought from home in an efforts to buy the products.
