FORMER DIPLOMAT CALLS ON ONNOGHEN TO RESIGN

Her words, “Once he resigns, everything stops because the principal actor has gone. Then we will find a way to amend our constitution. I am only appealing to his good conscience to do the right thing” she said.

Penpushing also reports that, Bello who is a lawyer and former Commissioner in Ogun State under the administration of Governor Gbenga Daniel said, she was not compelling Onnoghen, but appealing to his good conscience to do the right thing.

 “I’m making the appeal because we need to correct the law, this matter is not going away, we need to correct it for the future. If things like this keep happening, then we cannot have development. We have fallen, our constitution and laws are defensive,” she said

Penpushing also reports that, Bello who is a lawyer and former Commissioner in Ogun State under the administration of Governor Gbenga Daniel said, she was not compelling Onnoghen, but appealing to his good conscience to do the right thing.

The former Ambassador, however, declared that she believes the President acted unconstitutionally by suspending the former Chief Justice of Nigeria(CJN)from office, pointing out that, “We need to go through the right process to get this issue sorted out”

Hear her further, “The constitution says the president should have gone through the NJC on the side of the removal…there is no provision in the constitution that says the president can suspend the CJN’

Penpushing recalled that,  Onnoghen was controversially suspended from office by President Muhammadu Buahri last Friday, and  said to acting based on a court order by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
