Fire razes Premium Times Headquarters

The Corporate Headquarters of Premium Times online newspapers located in Wuse area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday recorded a case of fire incident, which damaged section of the building

Penpushing reports that, the fire which started from the office of  Editor-in – Chief, Musikilu Mojeed, shortly after he left for jumat prayers damaged the newspaper’s newsroom and destroying properties.

The fire, which started at about 1.30 p.m consumed some personal effects of Mojeed as well as computers, printers, furniture and  documents among others, just as efforts to safe some of the properties proved abortive following a  thick smoke biĺlowing from the office , which prevented the staff to gain access.

Penpushing further reports that, as the fire started spreading, some bold staffers of the establishment and other symphatisers engaged on the use of extinguishers to confront the inferno before the firefighters arrived at the scene

The Assistant Managing Editor, Bisi Abidoye while reacting to the unfortunate incident lamented over the havoc, explaining that the staff suddenly noticed smoke billowing from the Editor-in-Chief’s office shortly after he left for jumat prayers

Penpushing further reports that, Abidoye said a formal report had been made to the appropriate authorities, stressing that the damage was severe, just as   fire officers said they suspected an electrical fault as the cause.

Meanwhile, the management and editorial board chairman of Penpushing Media, Deaconess Funke Fadugba has commiserated with the management of Premium Times over the incident, and thanked God that no life was lost,  praying that God will replace all the damaged materials.
