Fatimah abdulkareem, former president women journalists mourns Ajimobi
Former President National Association of Women Journalists(NAWOJ), Alhaja Fatimah Abdulkareem has lamented over the sudden death of former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, saying it was a death too many at this crucial period on Nigeria political space.
Penpushing reports that,Abdulkareem in a condolence message, noted that, ’this year 2020 can never be forgotten in the history of Oja’ba in particular, Ibadan in general and Oyo State as a whole.
‘The death of the immediate past Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi on Thursday, June 25 is one death too many at this crucial period in our political space’, she emphasized, adding that the deceased made his own contributions to the development of Oyo state and the advancement of Democracy in the country.
Penpushing further reports, that Abdulkareem who was also former National Treasurer of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), submitted that, “God knows why He took him now though we wanted him around for a longer period of time’
The veteran woman journalist prayed that God protect the deceased widow, Mrs Florence Ajimobi and all the children and grandchildren he left behind, stressing, “I want to urge the children to uphold the legacy that their father upheld in his lifetime’.
‘Almighty Allah will forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah firdaus. I commiserate with all the good people of Ibadanland, Oyo State and the entire Yorubaland over this irreparable loss’, the former women journalists’ leader said.
