Dramatic turn: Yakubu Dogara dumps peoples democratic party, rejoins all progressives congress

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara, has  returned to his former party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and left the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), where he had earlier defected to.

Penpushing reports that Dogara  in 2018 left the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) following his  political confrontation for about two years with the former Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar.

The former Speaker, however, declined to respond to journalists,explaining that he would react at the appropriate time, but sources confirmed the development after Dogara met with  President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House on Friday.

Penpushing further reports that, the acting Chairman of the ruling party  Mai Mala Buni, who led Dogara to Buhari  later confirmed the development, disclosing that the President had already welcomed Dogara

The acting chairman who doubles as the Yobe State Governor said the conditions that prompted  Dogara to leave the ruling party had now been eradicated, but it is recalled that Dogara   had in September 2018  after dumping the ruling party visited the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) national secretariat where he submitted his nomination forms for the 2019 House of Representatives election.

Penpushing also reports that, Dogara recently headed a screening panel of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary for the Ondo State governorship election and it is unclear why he is leaving the opposition party he joined in September 2018.

The former speaker in the same vein teamed up with the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  to defeat then Governor Abubakar in the 2019 governorship election.
