DISREGARD SPREAD OF FAKE NEWS ON ALLEGED KILLINGS, OYO POLICE COMMISSIONER TELL RESIDENTS

The Commissioner said that his attention has been drawn by some critical stakeholders and AIG Zone 11, Oshogbo, AIG Leye Oyebade to the spate of unsubstantiated stories of alleged killings published in the social media today10th of March, 2019 which is alarming.

Hear him, “the unconfirmed story is false entirely planted by mischievous person to deliberately cause disaffection and mention in the State”, and appealed to the residents to be wary of such uncorroborated, frivolous, unethical online publications that appears to being contrived to cause panic, confusion and pandemonium within the citizenry with a view of causing public disorder in the State.

Penpushing further reports that, Olukolu also appealed to stakeholders in the media to always endeavour to crosscheck their stories or reports before publication, adding that as Nigeria project, Oyo State is a collective heritage that must not be destroyed on personal gain and interest.

“I therefore wish to sensitised our people to go about their lawful duties and business without any fear or intimidation, the relative calm being enjoyed in Oyo State, must not under whatever guise be destroyed because business of security is a collective responsibility of all which the people as a stakeholders must continue to partner and synergize with the police to enable them to serve the community better’.
