CUSTOMS SERVICE SEEKS CORDIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH BORDER COMMUNITIES

The Controller said stamping out smugglings will thereby boost production of locally produced goods and by extension generate more funds for the government and the people, and also took time to educate the youths on the roles of Nigeria Customs Service as guided by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. .

Penpushing further reports that, Ogbara at the meeting which lasted over two hours  said the Command  is fine-tuning the relationship between it and the community to make it more cordial, and  tasked the youths to sensitise the community

The Acting Coordinator of the Ipokia Youth Policy Forum, Comrade Deji  Imoleayo while responding  commended the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS) for initiating the meeting which he described as necessary and long overdue.

Penpushing also reports that, Imoleayo presented the demand of the community which include; stoppage of indiscriminate shooting, stoppage of unofficial staff popularly called “CAMBOY”, and need for usage of identity cards by the customs officials among others.
