CRIMES COMMISSION APPREHENDS 89 ‘YAHOO-BOYS’ AT IBADAN NIGHT CLUB

The Agency spokesman noted that the raid also led to the confiscation of scores of vehicles, laptops, sophisticated phones and other items, adding that the suspects are undergoing further interrogation, adding that those arrested are suspected to be involved in cybercrime act, also known in Nigeria as Yahoo-Yahoo.

Penpushing further reports that the agency on its twitter on Monday said the arrest was carried out by operatives of its Ibadan zonal office adding that before the arrest, its officers had carried out a series of discreet surveillance on the activities of the accused persons. .

Meanwhile, Nigerians on Twitter have launched an attack on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the arrests and in reaction, accused the Commission of leaving out prominent politicians who have ruined the country’s economy to fight suspected internet fraudsters.
