Crime is my source of livelihood, I can’t leave it, suspect declares

A 54 year old suspected fraudster, Femi Johnson has declared that he is addicted to the illegal duty, and was not ready to leave, with an argument that, that was the only source of livelihood for him and  his family.

Penpushing reports that,Johnson who was a dismissed police officer made the declaration on Wednesday when he was paraded after his arrest, at Oyo State Police Command headquarters at Eleyeile, Ibadan

The suspect who had earlier been arrested for same impersonation offence, before now told journalists  that all the allegations against him of impersonation were true and accurate, declaring that he was not afriad to go to jail

Penpushing further reports that, the 54yrs old Iseyin born ex police officer,confessed that it has been awhile he engaged in the illegality, stressing that, that is what he does to feed his family who relied on him for survival

“I didnt regret my action, am a force man, so I cant I regret, am not a robber and I never been to high ways to rob, I only create ways to fed myself and my children’, the Iseyin born suspect emphasised

. “It has been a while I’ve been into it, so am not afraid to go to jail, jail is not meant for goat, is meant for human being, afterall most of Nigerian top politicians also go to jail, I didn’t rob, am only using my entitlement to feed myself and my family.”

Penpushing also reports that in a related development, the command  also arrested and paraded a 25 year old man, Musiliu Waliu, for coniving with notorious armed robbers to rob his father at Isale Alfa, Saki town

.The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Shina Olukolu while parading the suspect at the command headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan said that on 4th of May, 2020 at about 0041hrs, three members of a notorious armed robber syndicates who were armed with gun, knives and some other dangerous weapons invaded the residence of one Adeniyi Musiliu located at Isale Alfa, Saki, Oyo State.

Penpushing further reports that the police boss said that the three armed robbers attacked their victim, disposed him of sum of money, cell phone and other valuable items, adding that susbsequently two of the suspects were initially arrested.

“As soon as the incident was reported at the Special Anti Robbery Squard (SARS) base at Saki, a team of SARS swung into action and after investigation, two of the suspects, Abass Kasim and Wale Olawuyi were arrested in connection with the crime.”

 

“Their confessional statement led to the arrest of one Moshood Fadilulahi who supplied the locally made guns with ammunition they used for the the criminal activities, and one other suspect Musiliu Waliu who is a son to the victim was said to have gave information about his father to his syndicate member which led to the armed robbery operations.”

Penpushing also reports that,one of the suspects, Musiliu Waliu, who was a son to the victim while speaking with journalists said he organised the robbery when his father refused to support him towards his graduation after undergoing training in motor part sales ,

“Am an apprentice of motor spare part, I was about to do my freedom and I went to my dad to give me money for the ceremony and my dad told me that he didn’t have money to give me for the freedom, so that was why i decided to take some of my friend to rob my dad so that I can get money for my freedom, bur now that  I have been caught, am regreting my action now.”

Penpushing  reports that Olukolu while explaining  the breakdown of how the suspects were arrested, said that, ” thirthy-six (36) suspects were arrested, out of which nine (9) were caught for armed robbery, one (1) for murdered/cultism, one (1) for impersonation, and one (1) for obtaining goods under false pretense/stealing.

The commissioner said,item recovered from the suspects  were nine (9) arms, sixty-four (64) ammunitions, two expended ammunition, and five (5) motorcycle among others, just as he solicited  from the members of the public their unrelenting supports by constantly supplying the police with credible information that will enable the authorities to be proactive and combat crime and criminalties in the State.
