Court sentences 16 fraudsters for impersonation

A Federal High Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, has sentenced sixteen internet fraudsters for various jail term for criminal impersonation and possession of documents containing false pretences.
Penpushing reports that the convicts who are in the 20’s include: Ajibola Ibikunle; Victor Solomon Osahun; Adeniyi Afeez Adebayo; Enitan Babajide Ganiu, Ashore Gbogbo Ayo and Sobayo Oladapo
The other convicts are: Odebode Abiola Jamiu; Dairo Emmanuel Olajide; Stephen Mathew; Hussain Abdulkabir; Ayanniyi Quadri Ayansegun; Ajibike Kehinde Segun; Ibironke Tomiwa Emmanuel; Agboola Olanrewanju Shakiru, Abdulrauf Adam Opeyemi and Akinlabi Royal Ebube.
Penpushing further reports that,in a release signed by the Head, Media and Publicity, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Dele Oyewale, stated that they all pleaded guilty to one-count charge of impersonation filed against them by the commission.
The prosecution counsel, Bashir Shamsuddeen, and Abdulrasheed Lanre Suleiman,while taking the pleas for the accused had prayed the court to convict them accordingly, prompting the guilty verdict passed by the court.
Penpushing also reports that, Justice Mohammed Abubakar while pronouncing judgement sentenced Odebode to two months imprisonment; Ajibola, Osahun, Adebayo, Enitan, Ashore, Matthew, Ajibike and Akinlabi three months jail each, while Ayanniyi, Sobayo, Ibironke, Abdulrauf bagged four months each while Dairo and Abdulkabir were handed six months jail term each and Agboola was sentenced to eleven months imprisonment.
Meanwhile, the court further ordered that the convicts would forfeit all items recovered from them to the Federal Government of Nigeria, and also restitute sundry sums to their respective victims.
