CORRECTIONAL CENTRE INMATES CELEBRATE FORMER GOVERNOR AMOSUN AT 62

The inmates of Correctional Centre located in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital on Saturday celebrated the former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, to rejoice with him (Amosun) on his 62ND birthday ceremony.

Penpushing reports that, the inmates in large number welcome the former Governor into the four wall of the correctional centre, when he played host to them as he celebrate his birthday to donate gift items to the centre.

The former Governor who arrived the Ibara Correctional Centre at about 3.00pm in company of some of his political supporters and associates, was led inside the centre by the coordinator of the correctional centre into the waiting arms of the inmates.

Penpushing further reports that, the inmates on sighting Amosun could not hide their joy, as they all became excited, and started to praise sing him, and shouting number of his appellation such ‘Baba Onifila Gogoro’, ‘SIA’, and  ‘Omo Ajiri among others

The former Governor now a Senator took time to walk round to appreciate the inmates, and also dance to the inmates’ band, while in return the inmates responded in appreciation for considering the visit to them.

Penpushing also reports that, Amosun who later donated number of items to the centre, also announced that he would pay for those inmates jailed but with option of fines, to enable them secure their freedom.

The former Governor also pledged to donate a vehicle to the centre, for easy movement of inmates to court, and this promise came after one of the inmates disclosed that, the centre operates ramshackle vehicles, which affects inmates movement to court, hence, causing delay  in their trials

Penpushing also reports Amosun advised and pleaded with the inmates that, once they were able to regain freedom, they should avoid going back to the crimes which brought them into prisons, stressing that nothing is as sweet as freedom.

Meanwhile, those in his entourage include; Bola Lawal(member House of Representatives), Sarafa Isola(former Minister), Iyabo Anisulowo (former Minister), Adeleke Adewolu(former Special Duties Commissioner) and Mikaill Kazeem(former member House of Representatives) among others
