CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS CALL FOR CASTRATION, DEATH SENTENCE FOR GIRL-CHILD ABUSERS

The event held at the premises of the Women Development Centre, Abeokuta, the State Capital  was also celebrated with enlightenment programme, which include lecture delivered by seasoned human rights activists.

Penpushing further reports that, Civil Society Action Coalition on Education of All ( CSACEFA ) Coordinator in the State, Mrs. Taiwo Adebanjo  while speaking pointed out that,it is high time, the government start implementing hard action against girl child abusers.

The coordinator lamented that taking girl-child sexual harassment and maltreatment has become a menace in the society, declaring that only strong actions by the authorities  could stop the ugly trend, and called  for castration and death sentence for offenders of sexual abuse of the Girl-Child.

Her words: “It is high time the law take its course on offenders of Girl-Child abuse or harassment. Look at raping of a seven-year old girl case, strong actions should be taken. Anybody that commit the offence of raping or sexual harassment of girls should castrate or be killed. The actions destroy the reproductive organs of the girl-child; hence there should be strong punishment that will live on the person for life if not killing.”

Penpushing also reports that, State Coordinator of Child Protection Network (CPN),, Alfred Soleye in his remarks explained that  the event was organised to call more attention to girl-child education, and expressed worry  that government and the populace do not pay more attention to Girl-Child education unlike their male counterpart.

The Child Protection Network(CPN) boss further added that revealed that the celebration  was also to encourage the girls on need to be focused and determined to pave way for a successful life, stressing that they should not give up in bid to attain good and successful career.

 “We are here to give them support, confidence that they can achieve the goals and be successful in life. We want them to know that nobody can stop them in attaining greater heights in life unless they give up”, Soleye said.

” Nigerians should rally round our girls and help them be successful. Civil societies can do it alone, government should support us in educating the girls “.
