Burial attendants, mourners at Kyari burial to undergo coronavirus test

The undertakers and mourners who participated in the burial of the of  Abba Kyari, former Chief of Staff to President Mohammed Buhari are to be placed on self-isolation, and this include a burial attendant caught  in a video taking off his protective gear and disposing of it indiscriminately

Penpushing reports that, the trending video revealed  the unidentified middle-aged man pulling off his coverall which he left near the cemetery’s perimeter, after the burial  and later drove off in his  SUV car.

The Acting Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory( FCT) health secretariat, Mohammed Kawu, confirmed that  all workers at the cemetery had been identified and will be isolated and tested for coronavirus.

Penpushing further reports that, Kawu in the same vein, said all those who were active at  burial had also been identified and will be isolated and tested, adding that “I also saw the video trending. I promptly contacted the department of health secretariat. They have gone there and taken the bag of the PPEs and disposed it professionally,.

“The gentlemen that are working in the cemetery have been identified and we are going to follow them up, isolate them, test them and do what is right so that they won’t infect other people. Please let’s encourage people to remain calm. A breach has happened but we are on top of it.” he said.

Penpushing also reports that, experts have pointed out that the carelessly discarded coverall could help spread the coronavirus if picked up and probably taken home by some ignorant persons.

The World Health Organisation (WHO), also said PPE should always be removed under the guidance and supervision of a trained observer (colleague) and properly disposed of in infectious waste containers.
