BUHARI SUES WIFE FOR CHANGING CHILDREN’S SCHOOL WITHOUT PERMISSION
The husband who had earlier instituted a court case, seeking for a divorce but stopped by a High Court. told the Sharia Court that for six months, the estranged wife refused to allow him to have access to the children as earlier ordered by a court.
Penpushing further reports that, the complainant prayed the court to order the wife to take the children back to the school in which he enrolled them and also, to take the children back to his house, in view of the fact that they (spouse) still resident in the same house.
However, the defendant, through her lawyer, Adam Hassan, noted that Islamic law permitted a woman to take her children with her wherever she was going, stressing, “If she is taking her children with her to a safe place, not a long distance from their father, it is allowed by law; even though they had little misunderstanding, she is still his wife,”.
Meanwhile, he judge, Murtala Nasir, after listening to both parties, adjourned the case till November 6, and also ordered the counsel to come along with a copy of the High Court’s proceedings on the matter.
