Boko Haram attacks Dapchi

Three years after abduction of 117 female students of a secondary school in Dapchi, Yobe  State, the Boko Haram insurgents have again attacked the community,setting ablaze number of houses, as residents fled.

Penpushing reports that the incident occurred on Thursdayat about 7 p.m., while Nigerian soldiers later arrived and engaged the terrorists in a shootout,but as at the time of filing this report, the army spokesman,Sagir Musa could not be reach.

The community was in the news globally in 2018 when the bandits stormed the school and kidnapped  about 117 female students, with five of them died during the kidnap while all others were released except Leah Sharibu for reportedly refusing to renounce her Christian faith.

Penpushing further reports that,the innocent Leah Sharibu is still in custody of the gang as at the time of this report, and clocked 17 years last week, with call from Nigerians,that the Federal Government should be proactive in securing her release having spent over three years in captivity.
