Associates of murdered Abeokuta couple plan tribute to honour deceased

The associates of the couple murdered alongside their only surviving son on new year day in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital have set out plans with inauguration of committe to design programmes to honour the deceased with a tribute and pay last respect to them.
Penpushing reports that Secretary,Organizing Committee, Okonye Michael made this known in a statement explaining that the proposed tribute is scheduled to hold on  Tuesday 14th February,2023 at Kenlard Gardens Oba Karunwi Road, Government  Reservation Area (GRA),Ibara,Abeokuta by 4pm
“You will recall the unfortunate incidence that occurred on January 1,2023 where Mr and Mrs Fatinoye and the only surviving son were gruesomely murdered which threw the city of Abeokuta into moaning,Scanning through the walls of memory and being reminded of the impactful and peaceful life they lived makes the irreversible situation more painful as their memories still linger in our hearts”, the statement reads
“However,in honour of the late family,friends,close associates,and loved ones have considered it necessary to organize an evening of tribute for the deceased and pay our last respect as expected. As proposed,the event would be held on Tuesday 14th February,2023 at Kenlard Gardens Oba Karunwi Road,GRA,Ibara,Abeokuta. Time:4pm”
Penpushing further reports that the committe members who have tasked themselves on raising fund for the events, and seeking for voluntary support from other friends of the late  family disclosed that some items being packaged for the events include branded Tshirts, banner, security and live streaming among others
The couple Kehinde Fatinoye a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the wife, Bukola a staff of the Federal University of Agriculture (FUNNAB), Abeokuta,it will be recalled were gruesomely murdered on their return from crossover church service on January 1,2023
Penpushing also reports that the assasins on forcefully gaining access to the house located within the Government Reservation Area killed the couple and set their bodies ablaze, which burnt beyond recognition, while their only surviving son was abducted and thrown into a river along Adigbe-Obada axis of the town.
The cousin of  the late Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official, Ambrose Somide,  Director Radio Services of Daar Communications could not control his emotion over the sad loss of the couple, stressing that he could not explain what might be behind the development
Penpushing reports that the couple were however, buried the following day of the incident after a funeral church service, held at Okejigbo area of Abeokuta. while the recovered body of their son from the river were also committed to mother earth the third day of the sad incident.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi has confirmed arrest of some suspects, adding that investigation was still ongoing to get to the root of the matter.
