Amotekun arrests eleven bandits in Oyo state

The Oyo State Security Network Agency comprising Amotekun Corps, Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) and Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) on Thursday arrested eleven suspected bandits at various locations in the state and environs.

Penpushing reports that a statement by Commandant of Amotekun in the State, Col.Olayinka Olayanju said six  of the suspects were apprehended by security operatives along separate routes within Kajola Local Government of the state, while the other five were arrested in Saki East local government.

The statement added that the suspects were arrested in separate incidents while trying to escape from the scene following encounters at two illegally mounted Road blocks, but were given hot chase by security operatives.

Penpushing further reports that,Olayanju said the corps are still on the trail of others who escaped from the scene, noting  that the suspected bandits, whose modus operandi was to pretend as herdsmen in the day and violently robbed innocent passengers on the highways at night were caught with 183 cows, weapons and a total sum of N268, 470.00.

The corps boss however said that the suspects have been handed over to the police alongside the 183 herds, weapons and money found in their possession for further investigation, calling on people with necessary information that could help the law enforcement agencies in their investigation to cooperate with the police.
