All Progressives Congress inaugurates 24-member reconciliation committee in Oyo state

The Oyo State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated a 24-member reconciliatory committee to resolve disputes from its congresses and primaries, ahead of the 2023 General Elections.

Penpushing reports that, it is recalled that the outcome of the primaries of the party in the state, had turned sour within its fold, which led to allegations and counter allegations, while some members defected to other political parties.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Isaac Omodewu, inaugurated the committee which is headed by Olufemi Lanlehin, and Tajudeen Olanite as the secretary, a ceremony held at the party’s secretariat in Ibadan.

Penpushing further reports that, Omodewu urged members of the committee to find an amicable resolution to the crisis rocking the party, stressing that All Progressives Congress (APC) can only be stronger if the house is put in order

“It can only be stronger together. You are elderly and critical stakeholders of our party. We cannot give you terms of reference. All we want from you is to use your experiences and influences to resolve all internal wranglings within APC. The reconciliation is an ongoing process,” he said.

Penpushing also reports that, the party boss pointed out that the purpose of the committee was for reconciliation to bring everybody back to the fold, drawing attention of the members to the known fact that they were all progressives.

“We believe we disagree to agree and thank God they all accepted to work as members of the committee and they have started working. Therefore, we will be expecting first situation report in two weeks’ time. There are issues from congresses and primaries. Please resolve all the differences,” he noted.

Penpushing reports that, the Governorship candidate of the party in the state, Senator Teslim Folarin, explained that the committee comprised men and women of values and integrity, adding that they were undoubtedly among the true faces of the party in the state and he has no iota of doubt that they would deliver on their mandate.

The chairman of the reconciliatory committee in his response, admitted that he had been assigned a duty to bring all the aggrieved members back to the party and promised to do that in no distant time.

“Our chairman has spoken. He is a man of timber and calibre who will take the party to the promised land with our governorship candidate, Sen. Teslim Folarin in 2023 election. We all built this party, we won’t allow it to collapse. We thank the chairman for giving us the privilege and honour to serve on this committee. We promise not to let you down’ Lanlehin assured.

Penpushing further reports that, other members of the committee include Ameed Ayinde, Lasun Adebunmi, Gbadamosi Adejare, Timothy Jolaoso, Oladayo Lawal, Badmos Bukola, Sunday Ajadi and S. O. Olaoye.

The list also include:  Gaphar Oyetola, Funke Olayanju, Adewale Adepoju, Kakako Ayinla, Ramon Aderemi Sadiq and Samuel Oluade. Kunle Folarin, Akande Abass, Kareem Adebayo, Adepeju Esan, Tunde Ajibola, Remi Olalekan and Oke Kolawole.
