ADEQUATE WELFARE FOR POLICE WILL REDUCE CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA

The Inspector General of Police represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Admin and Finance, Alhaji Maigari Abatti Dikko,noted that this will resist them from partaking in corruption.

He also added that providing affordable accommodation for the police officer will serve as a motivating factor to help the police in discharging their duties explaining that if a police officer is conscious of a guarantees housing facilities during and after his or her service, he or she will be committed to his or her duties and this will on the other hand reduced corruption tendency aim at compromising him or her.

“Our aim is to cater for the welfare of our men through several affordable cost, the product of this effort was what bring about the construction of this housing unit in all the part of this county particularly for the junior cadre.

He added that housing provision was made for the Nigerian police as a cardinal duty of the current police management team under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.

The Inspector General of Police also noted that President Muhammadu Buhari Housing Estate and another Housing Estate was commissioned in Badagry and Abuja respectively which are sold to the police officers of all ranks at affordable price through mortgage banks

He reiterated further that since housing is a capital intensive, that was why his team partner with various developers and financial institutions to tackle the problem of housing for its men.

“Construction is going at virtually all the 36 states of the federation by various developers and this will address the challenges of accommodation been faced by our men when they are ready for use’.

He however urged all the police officers to subscribe to the scheme so as to reduce the stress of accessing affordable housing facilities, noting that it is for the benefit of the police officers towards improving their welfare and enhancing their duties in protecting the life’s and properties of Nigerian citizen

 The Chief Executive/Managing Director, Cooperative Mortgage Bank, Mr. Kabir Ayinde Tukur in his remark, noted that the project was to delivered 500 housing unit in the first phase that was flagged off in Ibadan noting that that N2,000 will be deducted from the beneficiaries account every month which will qualify them to be the ownership of the houses.

He noted that the bank in conjunction with his institution are known for quality adding that there is one year guarantee on the houses and his institution are going to responsible for any damage that happen  to the houses during the period of the guarantee without any payment from the beneficiaries so that it can serve as an assurance to the people.

Penpushing further reports that one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Sisilia Motunrayo thanked the Inspector General of Police for his effort to make police officers committed to their job through the provision of housing scheme noting that the police boss is just like a father to them
