2019: FEMALE PRESSURE GROUP ENDORSES ATIKU

The convener said the resolve by the group to endorse Atiju was in line with a similar position taken by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), and also called on women, and indeed all Nigerians to rise up in defence of the nation’s democracy.

Penpushing further reports that, Kolapo explained that, the group, was initiated to mobilise women as game changers in the Nigerian socio-political environment, adding that, “Enough is enough. We cannot be deceiving ourselves that all is well in Nigeria’.

The National Publicity Secretary of African Democratic Congress(ADC) added, ‘anyone supporting the Presidential candidate of APC today is an enemy of this country or a beneficiary of the unrestrained corruption going on beneath the veil of integrity.

“As women, we owe our dear country a duty of knocking on doors and exposing the propaganda of the ruling government as a dangerous one that can further push the Nigerian economy into total disaster. Our First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has said two people are the ones in charge of the nation’s affairs, not her husband.

“We call on these two people to be bold enough to take their party’s expression of interest and nomination forms in 2023. This time, they have missed it. Nigerians will not fold their arms and watch a driver who cannot comprehend what they are saying, or even understand where they are going to, drive them into the ditch. So we have endorsed the candidate that can deliver at this point in time, and that is Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.”

Penpushing also reports that, Kolapo assured that the group would mobilise the women in all regions, particularly in the South West, for the success of the chosen Presidential candidate in the February 16 election.

“We have been sensitizing ourselves for the task, in line with the CUPP adoption. But, for all other posts, I encourage us to vote ADC all the way,” Kolapo said.

Penpushing further reports that, the inauguration was attended by core professionals, including Chartered Accountants, Medical Doctors,  Retired Educationists, Senior Civil Servants, top Journalists, School Proprietors and Retired Security Personnel, among others, who are pioneer members, as well as  traders, artisans and business women from the six South West states.
